A quality we can all identify with as parents and carers is the strong nurturer within us. We all share the belief that every child should be protected, supported and loved unconditionally for the unique little person they are. We action this belief throughout our northern beaches day care centres by building a strong sense of community where children and families are given the utmost support, respect and opportunities for growth through invaluable experiences.
Our local knowledge and community presence in Narraweena, Beacon Hill and Frenchs Forest is our strength. We are continually growing our community as we work to bring everyone together for your child. The collective contribution of our staff, families and wider community create the most optimal childcare environment. This approach provides much more than just learning in a classroom and challenges children to think critically and creatively. From visiting our local big schools to engaging in French or Tennis lessons, children are given exposure to unique and exciting experiences that will develop their senses, social skills, awareness and curiosity for life.
The positive connections that are made in our community are irreplaceable. We believe that everyone has a voice and should be given the opportunity to be heard, feel important and be part of something. We encourage everyone to be involved so they can form relatable, caring and supportive relationships.
Everyday at Making A Difference, babies, toddlers and the big kids are given opportunities to engage together and connect through fun and exciting activities. These activities not only provide literacy and numeracy education, they stimulate creative thinking, communication and self-expression, building social skills. For example, building and looking after worm farms together during outdoor education.
We also love helping families feel supported and provide many opportunities for families to connect with teachers and other Mums and Dads. Our parents and carers have already been building effective partnerships with teachers this year. These are relationships we hold highly and cherish, as we strive to create a comfortable environment for our Making A Difference families. We appreciate when parents and carers come and say hi and chat to us about what’s on their mind. Building effective partnerships allows us to work together to ensure we understand your child and provide them with optimal care that is suited to their individual needs. For example, if your child is struggling with something, has specific dietary requirements or a unique sleeping pattern, let us know so we can provide for your child’s specific needs to ensure they feel comfortable and cared for.
Everyone in our community loves coming together for special events, celebrations and activities. This allows us to strengthen our relationships as we enjoy special memories together.
Most recently, our centres have been buzzing with excitement and energy during the Easter period. Children have been developing their fine motor skills whilst engaging in Easter themed activities and have had a ball at our annual Easter Hat Parade that took place on the 27th of March. Our northern beaches childcare centres were filled with Easter colours, smiles and treats as our Making A Difference family came together to celebrate this exciting and special time of year.
The little ones strutted their stuff in the parade, proudly sporting their colourful Easter hats and giggling together at our teachers who looked rather funny in theirs. It was great to see that children and teachers weren’t the only ones having fun; our parents joined in on the excitement, sporting their fashionable headwear too.
We continued the morning excitement with a yummy morning tea. Children played together with all their friends, whilst Mums, Dads and Grandparents enjoyed a cup of tea over a casual (but informative) chat with teachers whilst bonding with other parents.
These community events bring us together for the children and are what make early learning and childcare at Making A Difference a valuable, irreplaceable experience for your child.
